I'll give you points for thinking about the macro view of things and going close to see it as no one would try to normally.

The problem with this one, that I feel is that there are a few things that need addressing in my opinion.

1) By going close, it might have been a little shakey as I can't see the full details crisp and sharp. Was this on a low shutter? It looked really quite good as a smaller view, but as I enlarged it, it started to show minute details of the lack of clear texture sharpness I envisioned.

2) There was a little too much blur around the focused area and I felt it began to eat into the main subject's focus. What I thought you could work out for 1 and 2 would be to back up a little, capture the detail nice and sharp and then crop in to get a nice effect. It would still show the details and it might be quite good.

3) While it is a nice view to look at and enjoy, I must admit that it's something a lot of other people tend to do as well. No offense to the creative viewpoint, but it would have to get even more creative to stand out from others who think like-wise. Try a closer angle, focus on the smaller details or something. It does help to think out of thinking out of the box once in a while. Oh yes.

With that, i felt it still was an overall okay piece because of the idea of conveying the texture across. But bear in mind these, and it might help a lot more in future
